The F40 was designed to be a high-performance sports car, and it was one of the fastest production cars of its time. It was powered by a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which produced 471 horsepower and 577 Newton-meters (425 lb-ft) of torque. It could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in just 3.8 seconds and had a top speed of around 324 km/h (201 mph). The F40 was built using lightweight materials to maximize performance. It featured a tubular steel frame with composite panels made of carbon fiber, Kevlar, and aluminum. The use of these materials helped keep the weight of the car down to around 1,100 kilograms (2,425 pounds). The F40 had a distinctive and aggressive aerodynamic design.
