The F40 was designed to be a high-performance sports car, and it was one of the fastest production cars of its time. It was powered by a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which produced 471 horsepower and 577 Newton-meters (425 lb-ft) of torque. It could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in just 3.8 seconds and had a top speed of around 324 km/h (201 mph). The F40 was built using lightweight materials to maximize performance. It featured a tubular steel frame with composite panels made of carbon fiber, Kevlar, and aluminum.
