The ZTQ-15 is significantly lighter and more compact compared to traditional main battle tanks. It weighs around 33 tons, making it much lighter than tanks like the Type 99. Its smaller size allows for easier transportation and maneuverability in confined spaces. The primary armament of the ZTQ-15 is a 105mm rifled gun, which is smaller than the guns typically found on heavier main battle tanks but still provides significant firepower. It can fire a variety of ammunition types including armor-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot (APFSDS) rounds and high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) rounds. Additionally, it is equipped with a 35mm automatic cannon and a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun.
